-
Put your scraps in a nice basket and
put it in a corner on your workspace, so you can use it easily.
-
It looks very nice to put buttons, ribbons
etc. in big glass jars.
-
When paper piecing, put your ironing
board, iron, cutting mat, ruler and rotary cutter nearby your sewing machine.
-
You can fold a thick towel around a
square piece of wood and use this as an ironing board.
-
Keep a journal of all your quilts: date,
for whom you made it, what pattern of book, where your made it (during
your holiday in .....) and it is also nice to include swatches of the fabrics
your used in a quilt.
-
Use a gray thread when quilting or sewing
with dark or multicolored fabrics, use ecru thread for light fabrics.
-
When you work with a sewing machine,
always have an extra full bobbin with the color you are sewing with at
hand, so you can change the bobbins in a snap. When you stop sewing, wind
another full bobbin for the next time.
